About Chreso

Chreso comes from the Greek word "Chezo" that means, "need." Chreso Ministries was established in 1996 and registered as a non-profit making faith based, nongovernmental organization. It was established to provide education, HIV counseling and testing support to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) which includes treatment, the needy and provision of vocation training services to the general public.

Since it's inception Chreso Ministries has been striving to function up to its objectives through the help of volunteers who have mostly come from the affiliate church (Gospel Outreach Fellowship). There have been three groups of volunteers who have been going to University Teaching Hospital, Prisons and Chainama Mental Health Hospital respectively, to donate foods, clothes and toiletries. This has been happening every week.

The group that has been going to the prisons has also been involved in donating food and clothes to street kids and natural disaster victims (like flood victims along the Luangwa Valley and drought relief and school feeding in Southern Province e.g. Siavonga District).
