Chreso Ministry Mission
Chreso Ministries’ mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities of Zambia with life changing programs in the area of training and education, public health prevention and treatment, care and support programs all designed to bring about sustainable and self-reliant development.
Health
Chreso Ministries' HIV/AIDS Counselling Centre in Lusaka, opened in 2000, successfully established a significant client base which facilitated its transition to providing free HIV/AIDS treatment in 2004, eventually expanding to over 40,000 people across multiple sites including correctional facilities.
Education
Chreso Ministries provides primary and secondary education to around 1,000 children, including vulnerable children, in Lusaka, Siavonga, and Chongwe, and offers vocational training in various skills, including automotive mechanics and catering, often partnering with organizations to provide free training to inmates and other vulnerable groups.
Care
Since 2009, Chreso Ministries has operated Fountain Gate children’s home in Chongwe District, Lusaka Province, providing basic needs and education for 200 orphans and vulnerable children, including 23 HIV-positive kids, and also facilitates self-help and support groups for women in various provinces to promote skills and entrepreneurship.
Priority Population
Confronted with numerous HIV/AIDS-related orphaned children and overwhelmed families, Chreso Ministries established Fountain Gate Children’s Home in 2009 in Chongwe, now caring for over 200 children and providing education through a nearby school that has grown to nearly 600 pupils, with plans for further expansion.
Chreso University
Chreso University was established in 2010 and has three campuses in Lusaka, Makeni (Lusaka Province) and Ndola (Copper belt) province. The University had over 4000 students and with over 2400 who have graduated since 2013.
