Chreso Ministries has been at the forefront of addressing the HIV/AIDS crisis in Zambia since its inception in 1996. Founded by Pastor Helmut Reutter and his wife Esther, the organization emerged as a response to the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on the community. Initially starting as a home-based care initiative, it has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare provider, offering testing, treatment, and support services across various regions in Zambia.

Chreso Ministries was established in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic that severely impacted Zambia in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The organization began as a small initiative aimed at providing care and support to those affected by the virus, particularly in a context where stigma and discrimination were rampant. Over the years, Chreso Ministries has evolved into a comprehensive healthcare provider, expanding its services to include not only HIV treatment but also tuberculosis (TB) care, maternal and child health services, and mental health support.
