HIV/AIDS Counselling Centre

In the year 2000 we opened the doors of our new building as counselling and testing centre of Chreso Ministries at GO Centre in Lusaka.

This was before HIV treatment was possible as it was unaffordable at the time. Nevertheless, the Centre became a great success and was able to build up a considerable clientele in the process. This did help us later when we were able to offer treatment, as we could instantly produce great results as we had all this people already in our program.

Chreso Ministries HIV/AIDS Treatment Facility 

In 2004 Chreso Ministries was the first five sites that was opened under the PEPFAR program in Zambia. Chreso was the very first site in Zambia who offered HIV/AIDS treatment free of charge.

Initially a contingent of only 200 clients was allocated to this site as it was a stand-alone site contrary to the other sites which were Mission Hospitals. After only two months this contingent was already filled. After an allocation of another 100 clients even this number was reached in less than 30 days.

Eventually Chreso was given green light to enrol greater numbers of people. This necessitated for our facilities to grow. An ambitious program was started, that allowed Chreso to grow to its present strength with over 40,000 people in care in our three sites.

In 2008 we replicated our treatment site in Livingstone and in Kabwe that became equally successful. In Kabwe Chreso has immediately added the Inmates of the two Correctional Facility to our mobile outreach. Since then we have treated countless Inmates in the facilities in Lusaka, Livingstone and Kabwe.
