ZAMBIA INMATES SKILLS TRAINING AND PSYCHOSOCIAL PREPARATION FOR RELEASE

This program seeks to train inmates in various skills in readiness for their release from correctional facilities. The aim is to make them self reliant after their release. It also provides psychosocial support for inmates and communities to which they will be released. This is with to help inmates and their families to increase the chances of a better reintegration into their communities. This program is implemented in four correctional facilities, namely Nyimba and Chipata in Eastern Provice, Samfya in Luapula Province and Namwala in Southern Province.

MCA Girls Boarding School

Mubuyu Christian Academy (MCA) started for the school year of 2004. The first pupils all came from the Siavonga District and Chirundu, which at the time was part of Siavonga. Since then the school has excelled and is one of the top 3 schools in the whole of Southern Province. The growth of the school necessitated the building further expansion of dormitory space and teachers houses over the years.

Children / Nutrition

NUTRITION PROGRAM for MALNOURISHED CHILDREN

In this program malnourished children in the Under Five Category were identified and monitored. The children received food supplements. Their mothers got nutrition lessons and cooking demonstration. The support to the malnourished children has continued even after initial funding has come to an end utilizing Chreso’s own resources.
